Cultural & Nature Guide
Alejandra is a certified archaeologist and naturalist who brings Cozumel's Mayan history and jungle ecosystems to life. She leads our cenote, horseback, and nature tours with deep cultural knowledge.
Alejandra studied archaeology at the Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán and spent three years working at Mayan archaeological sites across the peninsula before returning to her native Cozumel to lead tours.
Her tours are part adventure, part history lesson. She weaves stories of the ancient Maya with the island's natural ecology, explaining how the cenotes were sacred to the Maya, how the jungle plants were used for medicine, and why Cozumel was one of the most important pilgrimage sites in the ancient world.
Alejandra is also a certified horseback riding instructor and leads our horseback tours through the island's interior, combining equestrian adventure with cultural education.
Alejandra helped discover a previously unknown Mayan artifact during an excavation at San Gervasio — a jade ceremonial mask fragment now displayed at the Cozumel Museum.
