Punta Sur Ecological Reserve in Cozumel, is at the southern tip of Cozumel Island, and offers an amazing exploration of Cozumel’s most spectacular ecological reservation.
You will visit one of the world's most amazing scenic views from atop the Celarain lighthouse, with a nautical museum at its base. This national park offers the Laguna de Colombia, part of a three-lagoon system that is the habitat of crocodiles. Crocs can be seen from either the shore, from a trail through mangroves or from the dock over the lagoon. You may climb some stairs to a nice lookout over the lagoon, and there is also a trail through mangroves.

The water is very shallow for a half a mile out, which makes it great for little ones who want to splash around. If you dont want to swim, there are shaded hammocks that you can relax on. This location is also one of the best places to snorkel from shore, but it is a far swim to get to the reefs. We recommend only experienced snorkelers and swimmers take advantage of this shore snorkeling location. One of the great things about Cozumel, is that many of the great reefs are easily accessible from shore, so if your not taking a snorkel tour, you can still take advantage of Cozumel's amazing reefs.
